I’m delighted to be able to welcome Tristan Eckerson to the list of Upright artists. He first caught my eye with his beautiful piece Indarra from the album Trozo, which came out in 2016. A pianist and composer from Cincinnati, Ohio, he’s a mainstay of the contemporary piano music streaming scene receiving millions of monthly plays and has released music on 1631 Recordings, A Remarkable Idea, Sonder House and 7K! He earned his Master’s degree in Music Production and Sound Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and has performed all over the US and Europe.
This piece, Oslo, is taken from his album Decades, which he self- released in February 2020. Written, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Tristan, he aimed to recreate what he describes as “the simultaneous ultra simplicity and profound impact that I find particularly in the solo works of Philip Glass and Ryuichi Sakamoto”.
As usual you can download it for free or pay whatever you want with all profits going to Effective Altruism Funds, a charitable organisation that collects donations and passes them on to wherever the money would do the most good to the greatest number of people:
